Singapore Art Society Dr. Tan Tsze Chor Art Award Competition 2025

Objectives: The Dr. Tan Tsze Chor Art Award Competition organized by The Singapore Art Society aims to promote art in Singapore. It provides a platform for artists to showcase their artistic creations and help them gain recognition for their achievements. In celebration of Singapore’s 60th anniversary (SG60), we strongly encourage participating artists to draw inspiration from the SG60 theme in their submissions.

Rules & Regulations:

1. Eligibility:

The Exhibition and Competition are open to Singaporeans, PR and members of the Singapore Art Society. All artwork submissions must be original, recent works and have not been entered in any other exhibitions before. Previous 1st PRIZE of recent winners from Year 2019 to 2024 are not allowed to participate in that particular category that they had won.

2. Category:

Participants can only take part in one category in the competition and submit one painting only.
a. Chinese Calligraphy (open to public)
b. Chinese Ink (open to public)
c. Western Art (for members only. SAS reserves the right to deny the participation of any member who is in arrears with their membership fees in exhibitions or competitions)

3. Entry Form:

Entry forms for the competition must be submitted online through SAS website. A label carrying the artist name, title and selling price must be affixed at the back of each entry. All artworks must be properly framed or mounted and ready for exhibition.

4. Entry Fee:

Member: $60/- (non refundable)
Non-Member: $80/- (non refundable)

5. Dimension:

Western painting: 120cm width x 180cm height including frame
Chinese Ink & Calligraphy: 120cm width x 240cm height scrolled or including frame
Note: Any entry exceeding the above limits will not be accepted.

6. Artwork Submission:

All physical artwork for the competition must be submitted to The Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, 1 Straits Boulevard 7th Floor, Singapore 018906 , Wednesday 8 Oct 2025 10am to 1pm. If you need help, our committee members will be available to assist with registration and artwork photography there.

7. Exhibition:

All prize-winning and selected entries will be exhibited at Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre Multi-Purpose Hall Level 7, 1 Straits Boulevard, Singapore 018906, from 9 Oct to 12 Oct 2025.

8. Prize :

Each competing category will have one first prize of $$8,000, second prize of S$4,000 and third prize of S$2,000.
In the following year (2026), The Society will organize a special exhibition, comprising of all first prizes winners, annexed to the year’s annual competition exhibition. Each exhibitor may submit 3-5 art works without any participation cost.
Note: All winners must assign to The Singapore Art Society the right of reproducing their works for the purpose of publicity.

9. Results:

All entries will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by The Singapore Art Society. The decision of the judges is final. No correspondence will be entertained. The judges reserve the right not to award any of the stipulated prizes should the entries fail to meet the required standard.

10. Collection:

All exhibited entries must be collected on Sunday, 12 Oct 2025 between 5 to 6 pm at 1 Straits Boulevard Level 7 Singapore 018906, failing which the item(s) have to be collected from the Society’s premises at a fee of $$30 per item. Date and time will be fixed.
Note: Entries not collected by the given period as above shall be the property of the organizer who will then dispose them in whatever way they deem fit.

11. Commission:

All entries must be priced for sale. 30% commission of the artwork sold will be charged for Society Activity Fund.

12. Acceptance:

All entries signify acceptance of the above Rules & Regulations. While all possible care will be taken of for the entries submitted, the organiser assumes no responsibility for any loss or damage to the entries before, during or after exhibition. All entries certify that all information provided is true and accurate and will take full responsibility for any consequences if fraudulent information is discovered.

新加坡艺术协会陈之初博士美术奖比赛2025

宗旨:新加坡艺术协会主办2025年陈之初博士美术奖比赛的目的,在于推动我国的美术的发展及提高美术创作的素质,使本地的艺术家有更多的表现机会。为庆祝新加坡建国60周年(SG60),我们强烈鼓励参与的艺术家在作品中融入SG60主题的灵感。

章程:

1. 参加资格:

2025陈之初博士美术奖比赛开放给新加坡公民/永久居民以及新加坡艺术协会会员。 所有参加的作品,必须是近期的原作,并且是没有参加过其他任何展出或比赛。 注:自2019年至2024年五年内获得首奖者,不得再次参加该项比赛。

2. 参赛组别:

每人仅限呈交一幅作品参加比赛。参加者只能参加一组比赛。
a. 书法组(公开赛)
b. 彩墨画组(公开赛)
C. 西洋画组(只限本会会员参加。会员凡是拖欠会费者,本会有权不接受参展或参加比赛)

3. 参赛表格:

所有参赛表格必须通过新加坡艺术协会官方网站在线提交。作品背面贴上标签,注明作品名称,艺术家姓名及售价等。 所有参加的作品,必须镶框及装裱完整,适于悬挂。

4. 参加费用:

会员 S$60(恕不退还)
非会员 S$80(恕不退还)

5. 作品规格:

书法/水墨画:120cm宽 X 240cm高为限,包括外框或装裱。 西画组:120cm宽 X 180cm高为限,包括外框或装裱。 注:作品尺寸以装裱后的尺寸为准,超过规格者,本会一概不予接受。

6. 作品提交:

所有参赛的实体作品须于以下时间及地点提交至新加坡华族文化中心:

日期:2025年10月8日(星期三)
时间:上午10时至下午1时
届时,艺术协会的理事也会在现场提供报名及作品拍摄的帮助。

7. 展出地点:

得奖及入选作品,将于2025年10月9日至10月12日在新加坡华族文化中心多功能礼堂7楼展览厅展出。

8. 奖金:

每个参赛画组将获得:首奖一位S$8000元,二奖一位S$4000元,三奖一位S$2000元。
凡在此次比赛中获得首奖的参赛者,每人可以提供3-5幅新作品,用来参与本会下届举办的“陈之初博士美术奖比赛2026”附属展。
注:本会有权将参赛作品刊登于报刊、电视等作为宣传之用。

9. 评选:

评审团的评决即是本赛的最终决定,任何异议,恕不受理。

10. 参展作品:

获奖及入选的展览作品,请参加者于2025年10月12日(星期日)下午5至6时到展览场取回。 若逾期,参展者只可到本会会所领回,费用为每幅作品S$30,日期和时间另定。 注:艺术协会有权处置逾期未取回的作品。

11. 作品标价:

所有展出的作品,必须标价。作品售出后本会将抽取30%作为画会活动基金。

12. 遵守章程:

所有参加美术奖比赛者,皆被视为同意接受本章程,本会将尽可能妥善照顾所有参展的作品,在参展期间作品若有遗失或损坏,本会将不予赔偿。所有参赛者确认所提供的所有资料均为真实准确,并承诺如日后发现任何虚假资料,将自行承担一切后果。
